Naughty Curator is for adult fiction, including dark, kinky and taboo fantasy. These rules say where the hard lines are. Editors apply them when reviewing new authors’ work and when handling reports.
Never allowed
These lead to removal, and usually a ban:
- Minors in sexual content. No sexual content involving anyone under 18. This includes characters described, drawn or written as children, whatever age the story claims or however the setting justifies it. This applies to every scene, flashback and implication.
- Real people. No sexual content about real, identifiable people, including celebrities, public figures and people you know.
- Real abuse presented as fact. No content that presents a real sexual assault, or a real person’s private sexual activity, as true.
- Harm in the real world. No threats, incitement to violence, instructions for real crimes, or anyone’s private information.
- Other people’s work. Don’t post writing you didn’t write without the author’s permission.
Child sexual abuse material
Sexual content involving minors breaks our rules, and where it meets the legal definition of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) it is also a crime. We treat it as one.
- If we find it, or have reason to suspect it, we report it to the US authorities on discovery: to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline, which passes reports to law enforcement, and directly to law enforcement where that is called for. US law requires this of us, and we would do it regardless.
- We preserve the material and the account’s records as the law requires, and hand them over when asked.
- We cooperate fully and vigorously with any investigation that follows, for as long as it takes.
- The account is banned at once, and everything it posted is removed.
The site hosts no images, so this most often means text, links or descriptions that point to such material. Those are reported too. Fiction that merely involves adults is not affected by this section; rule 1 above is what decides whether a story stays.
Allowed, with warnings
Fiction can explore non-consent, coercion, violence, incest, bestiality, monsters and fantasy creatures, degradation and other dark themes, as long as nothing above is involved. Chapters with these themes must carry the matching content warnings, so readers can choose; a story shows every warning its chapters carry. Editors may add warnings or send a chapter back if its warnings are missing.
Quality and format
- Stories should be prose fiction. Poetry is fine. One-line posts, ads and links to elsewhere aren’t stories.
- Work written with AI tools is welcome, under the same rules as everything else.
- Write a summary that’s honest about what’s in the story.
Comments
Critique the writing, not the writer. No harassment, slurs aimed at people, or spoilers without warning. Commenting as Anonymous hides your name from readers and the story’s author, but not from editors, and anonymous comments follow the same rules.
How moderation works
- New authors’ chapters wait for an editor. Once you’ve had a few chapters approved and have a clean record, an editor can mark you as trusted, and then you publish directly.
- Anyone can report a story, chapter, comment or user. Editors review every report.
- Possible outcomes: no action, the work is sent back for changes, content is removed, trust is revoked, or the account is banned.
- If you think we got it wrong, write to legal@naughtycurator.com.
